Fashion Design Summer Camp Description
Project Runway–Style | Ages 10–16
Unleash creativity, confidence, and style at our Summer Fashion Design Camp, a hands-on, Project Runway–inspired experience for young designers ages 10–16. This weekly camp blends real fashion design skills with fun, fast-paced challenges—perfect for kids who love creativity, competition, and self-expression.
Campers will dive into the world of fashion through solo and team-based design challenges, learning how real designers take ideas from concept to runway. Inspired by shows like Project Runway and games like Dress to Impress, this camp encourages imagination while teaching practical skills.
What Campers Will Learn:
• Fashion sketching and mood board creation
• Draping and pinning on mini mannequins
• Basic sewing and construction techniques
• Creative problem-solving and teamwork
• Sustainable fashion through upcycling ♻️
Weekly Design Challenges May Include:
• Drape Challenge: Create a look by draping fabric on a mini mannequin
• Trash to Fashion: Turn unexpected materials into wearable art
• Upcycle It: Transform old garments into something new
• Make It Work: Choose a theme, design a look, sketch it, drape it, sew it—and present it
Each week ends with a Final Runway Fashion Show, where campers showcase their designs and celebrate their creativity in front of family and friends.
What to expect
Each weekly session is for 4 days with 4 hours of fun activities each day with a morning or afternoon session and will be held at the Design Studio. The Camp will be led by the owner and fashion designer, Shawnte and her staff. The kids will have a break each day to have a snack that is provided, or they can bring their own. Every week the students will make a fun sewing project and craft to take home. All supplies and sewing machines are provided at the camp for use. Classes are held at Design Studio 516 Linn Street Cincinnati, Oh 45203 location may change but notice will be given if location is changed.
Fashion Design Summer Camp (4 days)
Cost: $275 week
Days: Monday-Thursday
Time: 1p - 5p (4 hours)
Camp June 29th - July 30th
Cost: $275 for each weekly session sign up for one or more weeks!
**before or after care available for additional $25 hr
Note: This camp is for students who have some sewing experience or has taken any of my past sewing classes and camps. The students don't need to be experts just have used a sewing machine before and already know the basics, how to thread a machine, sew forward and back stitch and are comfortable using the machine and how to operate it with help.
***Permission forms must be completed and emailed or dropped off for each child to attend camp. You can pay online and we will email the forms or come to the Design Studio to fill out the paperwork.
***Talk with owner for any special request, scholarships, exceptions or keeping siblings in the same class or times.

Refund Policy
- If we need to cancel a class or it is canceled due to weather closure, we will reschedule the class for another date. Refunds will only be issued if we are not able to reschedule.
- If you need to cancel and can not attend the camp signed up for we ask for at least 2 weeks days notice to cancel for full refund. We will accommodate as needed for emergencies please review with owner. Please note a deposit fee of $25 can be withheld from refund if no notice is given to request a refund.
